Dear 1-800-Bridesmaid,

Hi, I'm Jessica from Phoenix. I’m scared to admit but I don’t know anything about my fiancé's finances.

We've been together for a year and he refuses to show me what’s in his bank account. I've been living in some fairy tale bubble thinking we just "never talked money" but now I'm realizing he's been ACTIVELY hiding it from me this entire time.

Every single time I ask ANYTHING about money, he gets this weird look and says "don't worry about it, I handle all the money stuff."

MANAGE WHAT?! I don't even know if this man has $5 or $5 MILLION. He could be drowning in secret credit card debt, have three mortgages I don't know about, or be sitting on a trust fund he's never mentioned. For all I know, he's been paying for our dates with money he doesn't actually have!

What if I show up to our wedding and his card gets declined? What if he expects ME to pay for our honeymoon? What if he's planning to financially control me the second we say "I do"?

I'm losing my mind here!
