Woah....small claims court? At the end of the day, that's not a friend. I am so sorry you ended up losing a friend and got swindled out of so much money! They should, at the very least, reimburse what you've already paid to be there.
They obviously are up to something if you're the only one to pay for the 1.000 dollar. They're showing who they really are. Karma will get them. She won't be married for long with this attitude. Find better friends.

You shouldn’t have to spend $6k for any wedding. You could have just bought a gift on the registry, sent a note, and call it a day.
